EFFECTIVENESS OF VISUALIZATION OF MOLECULAR STRUCTURE FOR ORGANIC CHEMISTRY AMONG HIGHER SECONDARY SCHOOL STUDENTSBy K.V. Jisha[1] and Vineetha[2]

Abstract

The present study was conducted with the objective of studying the effectiveness of visualization technique in Chemistry in secondary school students.  The focus of this research is to study the process of visualizing chemical structures and its role in learning chemistry along with teaching for understanding. The purpose of this study is to understand and describe how visualization lessons and activities act as a “scaffold” in supporting higher secondary school chemistry students’ understanding of a chemistry topic, such as chemical bonding and molecular structure.
