ATTITUDE TOWARDS EDUCATION AND SCHOOL SATISFACTION AMONG ADOLESCENTS IN RELATION TO SOCIO-EMOTIONAL CLIMATE OF SCHOOL By Dr. Sanjeev Kumar and Ms. RosyDhiman

Abstract

This paper studies the relationship of adolescents among attitude towards education, school satisfaction and socio-emotional climate of school. The study was conducted on students of 9th class studying in various Government Schools of Chandigarh. A sample of 100 students was taken randomly. Attitude Scale towards Education (ASTE) by Chopra, 1982, Adolescents School Satisfaction inventory by Sharma, 1985, and Socio-Emotional School Climate Inventory (SESCI), by Sinha and Bhargava, 1994 were used to collect the data. Co- relational statistics revealed that school satisfaction among adolescents has a significant effect on the formation of favourable attitude towards education, good socio-emotional climate of school significantly affects in formation of favourable attitude towards education and good socio-emotional climate of school significantly affects in developing school satisfaction among adolescents.
