A STUDY OF VALUES AMONG SOCIALLY DEPRIVED STUDENTS By Dr.Surendra Kumar

Values refer to objects, experiences achievements that are considered desirable and valuable for our existence and evolution; for Moksha from evil and suffering and evolution into joy of our inner and other self. Value education is the process of bringing about desirable change of behaviour. Values are eternal and dynamic. It reshapes itself according to the need of hour, hence its evaluation, time in and out is necessary to shape an egalitarian society. Good educational process assists in the developing values in humans for the development of harmonious personality. Ambition of socially approved values as code of conduct in society is mandatory. The issues of values are timeless and eternal struggle between good & evil and persist so internally in our minds and eternally in the world. If the mentioned content needs to be resolved the only way is value education from the very onset so that it can be internalized smoothly, since such an issue can not be enforced upon anyone. A similar view is enshrined in the National Curriculum Framework for School Education (2005).
