ROLE OF WARLI ART IN PROMOTING CULTURE & ETHOS AMONG STUDENTS By Dr. M. Varalakshmi

Abstract

India is a treasure trave of culture, developed over thousands of years and manifested in the forms of arts. The preservation and promotion of India’s cultural wealth must be considered a high priority for the Nation’s development. NEP 2020 states that all curriculum and pedagogy from the foundational stage onwards will be redesigned to be strongly rooted in the Indian and local context and ethos in terms of culture, tradition and customs. Warli art is the way to introduce culture and strengthen the ethos among children. Warli art is a form of Tribal art consisting of smile geometrical figures which is very easy to use traditions and learning process.  The study focuses an adaptation of this Warli art in drawing and introducing our culture and strengthening ethos among students.
